Bismillah,
I finally get to review a book I’ve wanted to read for quite some time now alhamdullilah. The Dino Flu is a Muslim authored children’s book by American Muslim Author Sahar Abdulaziz.
ILLUSTRATOR : Rashidah Mendez, a New York-native digital artist, and mother of four received her Bachelor’s, Summa Cum Laude, from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Although she switched her area of study from Early Childhood Education to Media Communication and Technology, she finds it rewarding to integrate the two disciplines. Mendez’s work exhibits her passion for digital art through her graphic designs and visual marketing and reflects her love for early childhood literacy through her children’s books, like “The Dino Flu” and others, soon to be released.
SUMMARY: UGH! Poor Dino is stuck in bed with the flu. Dino doesn’t like being sick at all. But instead of feeling sorry for himself, Dino uses the wonderful gift of imagination. Follow Dino through his many adventures of imaginary proportion!
THOUGHTS: The power of imagination allows Dino to see the glass half full and it can help sick children distract themselves when they face an illness by doing the same.
Below is one beautiful illustration of what he rather do than being sick.
The Dino Flu is very clever and lovely. I bought my copy on Amazon here. If you get the paperback, you can get the eBook for $2.99 . It’s a bargain.
Jazak’Allah khair for reading,
~A Ducktrinor Mom~
