Mr. Ramadhan Moon – A Review

Bismillah,

ramadan moon 1

Author: S.R.M aka Salma Raja Malik is a 29 year old mom of 3 young boys and an Occupational Therapist. She was inspired by her children and her first generation Muslim American experiences to create a holiday toy/book that is relate-able to Muslim children. She also works with special needs children and is training to provide pelvic floor therapy.

Illustrator :  Haleema Tahir Gul is a 25 year old fashion designer with the love for illustrations. Other than running her own clothing brand called “Lemon by H”, she works for a known Pret company and loves painting little illustrations in her spare time.

Thoughts: Mr. Ramadhan Moon is one of the cutest and creative children’s story I have ever read. Mr. Ramadhan Moon is also a nice and welcomed change from the assumption that the moon is of female gender. It accompanies children and family in a love and supporting journey.

Check out some pictures below:

ramadan moon

Mr. Ramadhan Moon embraces diversity alhamdullilah.

Mr. Ramadhan Moon makes a wonderful gift before the Eid and after the Eid. You can buy your copy plus the toy here on Etsy. It’s a bit pricy but Ramadhan is once a year so please splurge a little 😉 insha’Allah to support this small Muslim business. And 10% of the profits go the Syrian crisis aid masha’Allah. This will be money well spent insha’Allah.

Rating: 5/5
